Dieting – Why Fad Diets Fail

Fad diets are those diets that claim quick weight loss in just a few days with little to no effort except to stay with the diet plan. There are a lot of those being poured into the market each and every month, continually well advertised sometimes well endorsed and impossibly frustrating. Simply put, fad diets are just starvation diets and therefore unrealistic. It fails this way.

Fad diets are foods that one must bear through. In addition, a person on a fad diet is told to eat less and if the fad diet includes an exercise program, to work out even more. The only up side is that it is low on fat and commonly low on sodium but so is water. These, as a result, need readiness. Each preparation though tastes unappealing neighboring on unpalatability.

Fad diets may sometimes come together with an exercise program. But if someone is to look carefully, original weight loss happens this way. A body that sweats losses water and water is heavy. When the dieter looks at their weight after they exercise, there is truly a weight loss. But drink water and the body return to the original weight. The water then that was lost while exercising will only be the same to the weight that was lost with perspiration. The sensation though will be dissimilar.

The body then begins to slowly react to the starvation diet losing water in the cells which then turn to weight loss. As you progress the starvation diet, the body will begin to eating at the muscle and as a result you start to lose weight. Because you are staying clear of eating of fat (which the body by the way also needs), the tendency of the body is to make use of all the fat that is in store. It will go on for a certain time say 15 days depending on your metabolism. Then, when the body has burnt a lot of the energy in the muscle, you begins to feel weak. The reason for this is that it is already starting to use the fats that are saved in the body and which the body has tried much to save.

The irony is that, fats do not burn the easily. Unlike various energy foods that the body has used burning to give the energy to stay alive, burning the fat will alone take more time to give the energy th ebody needs and then the person on a fad diet starts being slow in movement. Performance will be bad, activity will slow, and even the exercises will take a lot more effort that, after a while, is dropped also.

Clearly, the point in going on a diet is to become healthier, let alone fit. A fad diet works to the contrary. The weight loss effects are immediate; it always is because it has to be, but the desired effect and the ideals in which the dieter started with is not.
