Burglars Raid Primary School in £15,000 Theft

St Thomas More Primary School, in Saffron Walden was targeted by thieves between Friday evening and Monday morning in what was described as a “callous act that has compromised the learning of more than 90 children”.

Although the building itself was locked, the computers, laptops and other electrical equipment were not locked away, they were out in open view of passer-byers.

Nobis Furniture offers some great Classroom Storage options to protect your computers, laptops and other electrical items from burglars. To mention a few there is the mobile laptop tidy, this is a fixed shelf and slide out shelf inside a cupboard with lockable doors, so the laptop can be kept safe and unseen when a burglary takes place. A similar lockable cupboard is available for computers and monitors, slightly larger but once again with the all-important lockable doors.

Sometimes vandals do break in just to cause chaos but Nobis Furniture have solutions for this also, with the Tray Storage Units with doors, to a vandal they just look like a cupboard but inside are the trays where the students work is kept, and it stays hidden from the vandals.

Headteacher Mary Jo Hall said it was “disgraceful” that pupils’ learning had been disrupted because of a burglary.

“I would like to express how sorry I am that this has happened. We were devastated when we found our laptops had been stolen in what was a despicable act by some particularly callous criminals,” she told the Reporter.

If you don’t want to put your pupils in this position then please call Nobis Furniture, they will offer you the best options to secure your important items.
